Where is Sharice Davids’ outrage on Biden’s border crisis?

TOPEKA, KS – Despite border conditions being a central issue of the campaign that got Sharice Davids elected to Congress, she remains silent about the existing crisis at our Southern Border caused by Joe Biden’s immigration policies. There is a crisis at the border. According to CBS News: As of Sunday morning, U.S. Border Patrol was holding more than 4,200 unaccompanied migrant children in short-term holding facilities, including jail-like stations unfit to house minors, according to government records reviewed by CBS News. Nearly 3,000 of the unaccompanied children in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody had been held longer than 72 hours. CBP is

Legislative Turnaround Update

As the Legislature reaches the Turnaround deadline, essentially the halfway point of the session, Kansans have had the opportunity to see firsthand which political party is all talk, and which one rolls up its sleeves and jumps into action. It’s been said, “You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do.” And, this past year, that quote has never rung more true. Governor Kelly continues to make headlines for the failures of her unemployment system, her failure to protect our economy, and her failure to step up with solutions to the pressing issues impacting our state. Meanwhile, House

Why Kansas needs the new Emergency Management bill

“I think everyone understands where we were back in March and where we are now. We certainly see the need for a quick response but also want to move toward a system of increased oversight, and review. The public deserves to have checks and balances.” This is a quote from New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins – a Democrat – as the New York Legislature prepares to pass a similar emergency management bill to the one being moved in our Kansas Legislature. Under the new Kansas bill, a governor could declare a 15-day public health disaster emergency, which would

Is Laura Kelly serious about #MeToo or not?

Kansas governor Laura Kelly talks about her first 100 days in office during an interview in Topeka this week.

TOPEKA, KS – If Laura Kelly is serious about her commitment to the #MeToo movement, she must call on Andrew Cuomo to resign from his position as Chair of the National Governors Association. Kelly campaigned in 2018, promising to #PressforProgress and “come together and be gender inclusive in all parts of our communities and government.” She hasn’t followed through on that promise. During the 2020 campaign, she merely issued a tepid statement through a spokesperson on Aaron Coleman, the controversial Wyandotte County Democrat with a history of abusive behavior towards women. She’s made no further comment on whether he should be serving in the Kansas

Why the “Equality Act” is nothing of the sort

Democrats are considering legislation today on the House floor called the Equality Act. Despite its name, the bill does the exact opposite of promoting equality. In fact, it would defeat the purpose of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, which exists to guarantee women equal educational and athletic opportunities. Like Joe Biden’s executive order that threatens to withhold federal funding for schools unless they force women to compete with biological males, this legislation would permanently devastate girls’ and women’s sports. Cases already exist in which transgender individuals have sued Catholic hospitals for declining to perform hysterectomies on otherwise healthy

Kelly’s economy puts Kansas in bottom five states for personal income growth

TOPEKA, KS – Under the leadership of Governor Laura Kelly, the Kansas economy ranked in the bottom five states for personal income growth in 2020. According to an analysis of economic data conducted by Pew Charitable Trusts, Kansas ranked ahead of only Wyoming and North Dakota in personal income growth in 2020. The growth rate across all 50 states was 5.9%, more than double Kansas’ 2.7%.  One reason for the lag could be the abysmal performance of Kelly and her Department of Labor throughout the pandemic. Yesterday, the non-partisan Legislative Post-Audit Committee produced a report estimating $600 million in taxpayer losses through payments of fraudulent unemployment claims in

Democrats side with campaign benefactors over Kansas students

TOPEKA, KS – Democrats from Joe Biden to Laura Kelly to Sharice Davids continue to pick teachers’ unions over students when it comes to the issue of re-opening schools. The Biden campaign repeatedly claimed throughout the 2020 election they would “follow the science” in responding to this pandemic. Well, the science is clear according to the administration’s own Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Dr. Fauci – we can safely re-open schools without having to wait for every single teacher in America to be vaccinated.  All the Biden Administration can seem to say on this important topic is “teachers should be a priority” for the vaccine.  No one

Does Davids support Biden’s move to kill 11,000 American jobs?

TOPEKA, KS – Immediately following empty calls for unity and healing in his inaugural address yesterday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline and send 11,000 American workers to the unemployment lines. Biden proceeded to eliminate thousands of jobs, despite entering office when 900,000 Americans are filing new unemployment claims per week, and despite the fact that the Obama Administration found that doing so will actually increase carbon emissions by 42 percent. Without the pipeline, transportation of oil will not stop, it will merely be done by rail and road, which are notably worse for the environment.  To recap,
