Kansas Republicans Elect Herbert To Chair The Party
March 1, 2025
Danedri Herbert is the new chair of the Kansas Republican Party. Herbert and her slate of officers including Vice Chair Andy Hooser, Secretary Amanda Schlyer, and Treasurer Roger Lomshek received 121 votes. Their challengers received 55 votes.
“Our top priority is to win the Governor’s race in 2026. We will do that by building a foundation and infrastructure to guarantee the party’s long term success, working as a unified organization, and by giving more Republicans the opportunity to serve and get engaged in Kansas politics,” Herbert said.
Danedri Herbert – Chair
Creating positive change by connecting everyday people with political leaders is Danedri’s passion. As a journalist, her work has appeared in newspapers across the country under her own byline and as ghost-written guest columns. She has served as Kris Kobach’s long-time campaign manager and is the current communications director for the Attorney General. Danedri has also served as chair of the Kansas Third Congressional District GOP and is the secretary of the Kansas Black Republican Council.
Andy Hooser – Vice-Chair
Andy is a nationally syndicated conservative talk radio host who has been based out of Wichita for the last 9 years. Along with hosting his radio show, Andy has been heavily involved in Republican politics. He was treasurer of the Sedgwick County Republican Party, a city councilman in Burrton, KS, a board member for the Kansas State Rifle Association, and campaign manager for state Rep. Leo Delperdang.
Amanda Schlyer – Secretary
Amanda values freedom and opportunity, two things that won’t survive without a strong Republican Party. She currently serves as Ellis County GOP Vice Chair alongside her husband, Chairman Adam Peters, who she met through her involvement in the pro-life movement. Under their leadership they have energized and grown the Ellis County GOP and successfully placed conservatives on the school board in Hays, a purple college town. Amanda is working hard to ensure that Republican officeholders have grassroots support.
Roger Lomshek – Treasurer
As an Army veteran and small business owner, Roger knows the value of leadership. To fight COVID restrictions Roger founded the SEK Freedom PAC. They won that fight locally, then throughout the Diocese of Wichita schools, and across Southeast Kansas. After volunteering with Value Them Both, Roger recruited over 40 new committee members to revitalize his county GOP. Using aggressive messaging, social media and grassroots outreach Crawford County flipped to hard red, winning multiple local offices and conservative majorities in two school boards.
