Governor Kelly’s nomination of Judge Jeff Jack to the Court of Appeals was the first Court of Appeals nomination to fail in Kansas history. Governor Kelly used the same selection committee for Judge Jack as she would in order to fill a Kansas Supreme Court vacancy. The Kansas Supreme Court continues to play politics with their court rulings. The court waited for over 2 years to make their ruling after the 2018 midterm election.
